Karol Nasiłowski - double bass
A graduate of a Music School Complex in Szczecin in the class of professor Grzegorz Kmita. After a year of studies in Szczecin (where at the age of 18 he was already a full-time employee of the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic in Szczecin), he moved to Warsaw to study at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in the class of professor Andrzej Mysiński. He completed these studies with excellent grades.
He perfected his instrumental artistry by participating in master classes with teachers such as Piotr Czerwiński, Irena Olkiewicz, Janusz Widzyk, Rinat Ibragimov, Miloslav Jelinek and many others.

In 2008 he received an award at the regional ‘Miniatura 2008’ competition in Szczecin, where he got (as the first Pole and the only double bass player) to the semi-final of the ‘Solo Bach Competition’ in London (2010).
He performed at many festivals, took part in workshops and youth orchestra projects.
He was also granted the following scholarship: a scholarship of the President of the City of Szczecin, a scholarship of the City of Warsaw, a scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education and a scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage within the ‘Young Poland’ programme.
He played his first performance as a soloist when he was seventeen years old, where he was accompanied by the M. Karłowicz Philharmonic Orchestra in Szczecin. In 2011 he premiered ‘Concerto for Double Bass’ by a Swiss composer Conrad Zwicky. He worked in the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, Danish National Chamber Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra. Currently he works as a soloist – double bassist in the Mieczyslaw Karlowicz Philharmonic Orchestra in Szczecin.
