Jan Harasimowicz - trumpet
Jan Harasimowicz was born in Łódź. At the age of 10, he began learning to play the trumpet in the class of Mariusz Stopnicki. He continued his musical education at the Oskar Kolberg in Warsaw under the direction of Stanislaw Przybyszewski and then worked with Tomasz Chmielarz. He then undertook undergraduate studies at Birmingham Conservatoire in the UK under the guidance of many distinguished teachers such as Michael Laird, Jon Holland, Andrew Stone-Fewings. During his three years of study he gained knowledge in orchestral, chamber and solo playing which led to regular collaborations with ensembles in the UK and Poland.
In 2005-2007 he was associated with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Music Ensemble of the Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford, the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra and the National Philharmonic Orchestra. After completing studies in the UK, during which he was also a scholarship holder at the Prague Academy of Music in the class of Professor Vladimir Rejlek, he continued his Master’s studies at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw under the supervision of Professor Krzysztof Bednarczyk.
Shortly after returning to Poland, he became a musician with the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, with which he performed J.S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 as a soloist. Since 2010 he has been 1st trumpet of Sinfonia Varsovia, since 2016 he has been a lecturer at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music and a lecturer at the National Music School No.1 in Warsaw at 21 Rakowiecka Street.
As a soloist he has performed with such orchestras as: Sinfonietta Cracovia, Sinfonia Varsovia, Silesian Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonia Iuventus, Zielonogórska Philharmonic Orchestra.
