ILYO 2022 - we know the date of the 10th jubilee edition
It has already been confirmed. The 10th jubilee edition of the International Lutosławski Youth Orchestra will start on August 10 and last until August 19, 2022. As every year, we invite talented, young instrumentalists from all over Europe to the Philharmonic in Szczecin to take part in the workshops, which will end with two symphonic concerts this year! One of them will take place in the golden hall of the Philharmonic in Szczecin, hailed as the most beautiful building in Europe in 2015, and the second will be a surprise.
The application deadline will be announced soon, so stay tuned to our website and the official ILYO profile on Facebook. We will also reveal where the away concert of this year's edition of the international youth orchestra whose patron, from the very beginning, is Witold Lutosławski, will take place.
And why is it worth coming to Szczecin for the ILYO orchestral workshops? There are many reasons, but the most important of them are:
International Lutosławski Youth Orchestra is a project that the Philharmonic Mieczysław Karłowicz in Szczecin initiated in 2013. From the very beginning, we set ourselves the goal of creating a professional educational program for young musicians, which would allow them to gain experience and skills in playing in an orchestra. Outstanding musicians and conductors lead the participants from the very beginning of the workshops, so it is also a dream opportunity for those planning a career as a soloist in the future.
