A wonderful evening has ended
It was a unique concert in many ways. We were all hungry for live music, not only the Szczecin audience but most of all musicians. After all, concerts with the audience are the very heart of all musical activities. Perhaps that is also why the International Lutosławski Youth Orchestra sounded so fresh and perfect today.
But this wonderful performance of works by Roussel, Lutosławski and Panufnik is above all the result of hard work, many hours spent on rehearsals and the heart that these talented musicians put into this concert. The whole was completed by the beautiful voice of Joanna Freszel – the first soprano singer with whom ILYO performed in her nearly ten-year history.
After the concert, we met our young heroes of the evening at the Level 4 Gallery at a formal banquet combined with the presentation of commemorative diplomas. ILYO is not only a great musical adventure and the opportunity to gain precious orchestral experience but also the opportunity to make new friends. It was difficult for us to part.
