ILYO 2021 - ninth edition
International Lutosławski Youth Orchestra welcomes young musicians from all over Europe to the M. Karlowicz Philharmonic for the ninth time. The registration for everybody wanting to take part in weekly workshops and play in a symphonic concert at the end of August in the most beautiful building in Europe starts today.
The ninth edition is yet another, incredible opportunity for young musicians to take a place in the prestigious symphonic concert under the baton of the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra – Rune Bergmann. As every year, preparation for the concert will be held under the supervision of renowned instrumentalists and teachers during the workshops for each of the instrumental sections.
The idea of the project is to create an opportunity for aspiring instrumentalists to gain inspiration and excel their musical skills under the eye of the best musicians in Europe and to present these skills in the orchestra of the unique project inspired by Witold Lutoslawski’s works. Every year, the programme is strongly based on the inspirations and works of the famous Polish composer. This summer, the musicians will be able to do their best in the following programme:
Essa Pekka Salonen – Gambit
Witold Lutosławski – Cello concerto
Claude Debussy – La mer – three symphonic sketches
The registration form with the Terms and Conditions is available on the project website ilyo.filharmonia.szczecin.pl from April 10.
To take part in the recruitment process it is necessary to send the registration form and video recordings required by the Organizer. The sheet music will be available on the project website in early May.
